| Have you ever been curious about what's it like to be a model. Let me give you a sampling. Daily Routine: Before I get out of bed, I spend one at least a half every morning reading and checking out my favorite newspapers and online news sources while listening to MN Public Radio. I meditate on what I wish to accomplish for the day and spend some time on devotional thoughts. After I check my email and approve ads for my comics sites, I get out of bed and spend a half hour on my beauty routine (make up not included.) I eat breakfast, pack a lunch, wash dishes (if I have time,) go to the car and drive to my latest adventure. While I drive, I enjoy listening to talk radio or the news. If I am sick of talk, or if I am too tired to deal with it, I'll listen to the tunes on the radio. If I come home for the day, Loki and I will have dinner at table or BBQ outside. He and I spend the rest of the evening chatting and coming up with ideas for comics. An example of a work trip: I've been making reservations arranging schedules and flight plans for some developmental shoots this summer. I probably won't sleep much when it happens, so here's an example of a special modeling trip: --- That's my semi-distant future. Here's a sampling of my past and future schedule. The following is an example of my typical schedule. Wow, and I'm a low-end model. Imagine if I actually were a high-end model. Someday. Maybe. :) | |

| These last few weeks have been a blur. Other than the Writer's Block and fluff posts, writing while on the road has been tough. So here's a non-chronologically ordered summary of my life.
1. Galina emailed me and finally forgave me for not attending her wedding. That meant a lot to me. Galina was my Jewish Russian best friend from Jr. High and much of high school. She had a big influence on my life. It pleased me to no end to hear from her.
2. My road trip with Misty B. was super awesome! In Minneapolis, she introduced me to a designer who asked me to be in her runway show on May. The designer gave us a great tip on a website with inexpensive dancer shoes.
3. I went out to dinner with Harlequin, stayed at Karen's place (what a hostess) and found some amazing clothes at Sarah's marvelous Naked Lady party. It was so nice to see so many familiar faces at the party. Can't wait until the next one.
4. Volunteered at the WARM exhibit's pick-up day and read my first complete book since I closed the print shop.
5. Work has been treating me well. My main promo agency has been providing me with gigs galore. I picked-up two new venues for art modeling, one unsolicited. Been sending my headshot to a few film opportunities. If Sunday's film gig falls through, I'll have a day off. Otherwise, I won't have one until next week.
6. Amazingly, Rasputin Catamite has been updating every week. The Rasputin Barxotka archive is finally back on a much smaller, and less violent scale to appease the censors. As per request of Gino, there's a one-month non-recurring subscription option available until the site is updated again on a regular basis. As soon as I download my Flash software, SIF will be back. No Killerdyke.com content because Loki has been working even longer hours than I have at the farm.
That's it for now. I have to ready myself for today's promo gig. I'm looking forward to going to the GRAA International Sampler Fundraiser afterwards with mom and tasting yummy foods from around the world.

This is a quick read with timeless common sense advice on workplace attire for women in the United States by the founder of Ready for Success. Useful and engaging, I recommend it.

| Okay, I am so happy! I got paid for not doing anything today and yesterday because a big corporation forgot to ship a promo kit and I was on call. As if that wasn't super enough, I am going to get paid more very soon. Loki too!
My freaking rockstar promo agency just merged with a whole mess of other agencies. As a result, it just gathered a bunch of new clients, but doesn't seem to have enough staff to handle the increased workload. As a result, I will be working a minimum of five days a week, for the next two weeks. This week, I will have technically worked six days doing either promos or modeling gigs by the end of Saturday. As if that wasn't cool enough, I just got added to yet another art cooperative's rotation. I am still waiting on another one, but the prospects are looking awesome for me. To add to the fun, I just canceled my Pilates class because Thursdays are too loaded with networking opportunities, and my in-home exercise and diet programs are actually working.
As for Loki, the workload at the farm has been unlike anything I've ever seen, so Loki is making more money than normal at this time of year. WOO!
So now, I leave y'all with some RuPaul action. Remember, "YOU BETTER WORK!"

| - My weight has remained stable, even if I had to miss two of my core classes because of work. I feel so hot!
- Taissa is helping me co-write the "Nikolai Tesla" storyline of Rasputin Catamite, and the collaboration was totally by accident!!! The drama she shared with me about her own stupid boy drama (totally unrelated to mine, even if they share the same name. Her adventure just as stupid as mine, if not more so.) Taissa, YOU RULE!
- I just finished the prelim work on the "Funeral," "The Battle of the Bed," "Funeral Aftermath," storylines of Rasputin Catamite, and I am almost ready to finish with La Gitana's "Totally Gay Fundraiser for Boris Yeltsin" storyline. If all goes well, I will be ahead four months, on that series in less than a week.
- I actually worked on new Ace and Bog's Let Lost stuff. I will be posting it very soon! :D
- I am getting so much promo and art model work, it's not even funny! I am really super happy.
- I am really excited about being an extra in a movie (which I cannot disclose at this time) before I visit
saracura on Sunday. IMDb credit is better than pay at this point in my career. YAY! - I am really excited about seeing Florence Hill and her new art exhibit after so many years, and attending the One Model Place party with Misty B. on Friday.
- Loki is getting lots of extra work at the farm next week.
- My cats love me.
- Mom made me bean soup and sorullos.
- Life is awesome!

| Loki and I can't do it anymore. Housework that is. It's days like today that make me cry and wish that Rosalia and Jimmy were still doing our housework. Our neighbors and his relatives aren't sympathetic because they are Minnesotans to the core and don't get the value of hired help. I'm a cake eater, so I do.
I work like a dog for several days in a row, take one or two to catch up on art and sleep, and then off to the modeling grind I go. Loki works his ass off at the farm from early morning to early evening. When we work at optimal levels, we have money to pay for stuff. Unfortunately, our house turns into a sty, because we have energy for little else. Our family time invariably suffers. Not this time, brother!
After many crappy leads, I finally found a cleaning service with people who seems professional and uses green products (because the super chemically stuff does horrible things to me.) They are coming tomorrow morning to give us an estimate, two hours before my dental appointment. I hope it works out because I really cannot deal with a filthy house, and I have putting up with one for FAR too long.
|
| I am very excited to get to work. I had a great modeling gig this morning, and I am looking forward to a very busy weekend! :) | |
|
| Instead, I am off to Minneapolis pretty soon to spend 8 hours of my life modeling in art schools. Little Blond is coming back from her weekend at grandma's. I am sad that I won't get to see her right away, but we'll get to play and work on our Spanish tomorrow.
I am thrilled to death. I am still two months ahead on Rasputin Catamite, and I am doing work on the "Sasha Saatchyan - Supermodel?" storyline which spills over to Barxotka, thus saving me heaps of world. I am taking a ream of paper to work, because I need to make evil chibis for the adult site(s?) I am on time with the Ace Pin-Ups. I only need to letter and assemble the first episode of The Nine Lives of Catnose: 3D edition. Loki is actually working on a new Ace and Bog (It's 90% finished.) I don't even have to worry about Thien, but I still owe her this month's delicious meal and two gift certificates for the Rainforest Cafe for December. (Please forgive me Thien. I've been a forgetful pig and I totally owe you a Bananas Foster at Culver's.) Misty helps me tomorrow, and I need to go to the post office to take care of stuff as well.
Anyway on that note... Here's some Lady Sovereign for y'all who "Love Me or Hate Me." (Blame it on Lucinda. Contains naughty words.)

| Misty O. and I are at the mall hunting down some new outfits that she needs for work. I am sitting on a big comfy chair while she tries stuff on. It's colder than the 9th Circle of Hell in global warming ravaged Minnesota. I think that zero degrees was the high today. I'm totally craving a Subway Veggie Delite salad! Sixty calories of yum! Alas, that isn't happening until after we visit the shoe store.
Not much happened this week aside from work, minor household drama, me procrastinating on filing sales taxes, and organizing bunches of stuff. I really cherish uneventful weeks, especially when the kid behaves. All is well and frozen in Vas's world.

| Kidlet...- Little Blond started school at her new school and pushed some girls for being too nosy. She got punished for acting like a bully on her first day of school, and got a talking to about the difference between valuing privacy and being an antisocial asshole. After thinking about it for a few hours in her room, she got over herself and realized that it was a good lesson to learn. Little Blond proceeded to have fun writing her first fable while sneakily doing a block printing exercise. (NOW THAT'S THE KIND OF HOMEWORK I'M TALKING ABOUT! Useful and devoid of worthless busy work.)
- Shared her lunch menu with us. Bio-mom, Loki and I felt envious when we read that she was eating better than we were. I wish I had the option to eat a meal of brown rice, roast chicken, corn, salad and fruit for school lunch!
- Made new friends.
- Left her homework at school, but was able to finish it before class. She now understands why everything needs to go into the backpack.
- Beat daddy at Mancala. This has definitely turned into the ultimate ritual of daddy-daughter board game death-matchery.
- Rolls her "R"s like a champ, but for some reason insists on rolling her "L"s too during her Spanish lessons. Feh!
- Is missed sorely by Nana Vas. My new agency has been kicking my ass with promo work.
- Got chased by boys, but was able to outrun them. Stupid boys.
- Loves her new teacher team.
- Chopped lots of wood, and continued putting on moulding around the doors and windows with daddy.
- Insisted on having her upcoming birthday party at Space Aliens. It's expensive, but my blondie is worth it.
Art and Lit- I created 22 drawings in a single weekend. Two of these drawings managed to make scatological fetishism look adorable. (Lucinda and Anna MM, know for a fact that I possess this amazing talent.)
- I actually entered the G1 Sasha puppet into a juried art exhibit, with a real artist's statement. Whether I get into the exhibit is up for grabs, but this is a major accomplishment for me. Hopefully, I can start getting into a few more exhibits.
- As I type this, my submission to the latest Lutefisk Sushi bento box is in the process of being printed.
- I decided to start the new issue of Polska, Sucka! from scratch, because I was stuck. What's appearing seems like a vast improvement. I am happy.
- If you are subscribed to P,S! You are getting a gifty in the mail very soon to make up for the lack of comic.
- I want to cry because I have to reinstall all of my 3D content... again!!! The worst part is that Catnose is past due, and she was supposed to make her 3D debut. *Head meet desk*
- In case you didn't notice... I wrote new poetry.
- The idea of the real Bitch Fu site is gestating and growing. It shall be soooooo delicious.
- I need to draw more naked people. Pretty, ugly, fat, skinny, it doesn't matter. I've been doing 'toons for so long my anatomy has turned to shit. Anyone interested in letting me drawing them naked and/or otherwise? I can negotiate trades (Lucinda... that fancy paper is staring at you.)
- I need to draw more adult matter.
- I need to flag my questionable LJ posts, so the kiddies can't see them. I am totally in favor of that new feature! Thom, should we flag the P,S! community for "Adult Concepts" to keep the kiddies and the real pervs out?
- I have sucked at blogging. Sorry.
- RC and Somewhere in Fargo really have a schedule. I have been awful about keeping up with Ace and Bog, and SlaveButt. GRRR!
Work- I finally broke down . I purchased a 500 gig backup drive and a smartphone. My sanity depended on it.
- I discovered that standing at a demo for 5 hours kills 1050 calories, thanks to SparkPeople (which categorizes standing under fishing, but it works for me.) This probably explains why I've remained relatively slender, even though my eating habits went to pot this winter. Thankfully, I am fixing the latter problem.
- SparkPeople is my new best friend when it comes to helping me get back into fitness model shape. If you want to nag me along, go to my profile at my.sparkpeople.com/VASLITTLECROW.
- I am up too late accomplishing too much. I am happy.
Gotta go to bed... | |
