3. My mom said, "no" to my pediatrician, Dr. Milton, when he suggested that I'd be institutionalized. I am too young to remember this, but I do know that my mother*, armed with a doctorate in child psychology, refused to believe that this was any way to treat a severely autistic child. Instead of pretending that I didn't exist, she proactively did her best to help me thrive and succeed in the world beyond my anomalous perception
filters. She didn't do everything right, but she created a strong foundation for my success. The Vas that you know today would not be possible without her.


* My mom has two doctorates and a law degree, for those of you who might be wondering.

My brain has been a bit scambled this week. It's been a challenge to function. I didn't help to learn that my grandma hasn't been able to stand up after what may have been a seizure (no diagnosis yet.) I spoke to her today. She sounds so weak and she begged me to visit. I am unable to.

So, the show must go on.

Heh!  I'm starting to look like a model again.  I purposely picked an angle where hiding any fat bulges would be a futile task.  This was one of Heinz Richter's images.  Click on it to make it bigger and  view my hard work. 


Now to keep me grounded and acting like a human being, here's my best impression of a gawth camwhore (taken on assignment at Normandale's Art Department.)  It's not every day when I get an art modeling gig that requires me to wear black vinyl pants and take on a spooky persona.   I had to share the evidence out of fear of not being believed.  I just had to.

This is SO AWESOME!  I really hope this beautiful nanotech approach works, because it would save so many people from the ravages of chemotherapy.  I love the whole light therapy aspect of this new technology.
