Yes, but it was out of survival. This happened shortly after I earned my driver's license.
Some elderly male asshole in a silver Lexus with Florida plates was trying to crash into my husband's Pontiac convertible on purpose. I accidentally cut him off as I was getting out of the fast lane. That made him furious. He has going at dangerous speeds and chasing my car. I didn't have my cell phone to call the cops, so I sped to get away from him and slowed down to get behind him. It was futile, so I tried running the screaming psycho off the road to avoid a multi-car crash collision trying to escape him.
Finally, I managed to maneuver him between two trucks, cutting off his ability to be a dangerous freak. I flicked him off and laughed as I sped away and the third truck blocked him long enough for me to go back to a reasonable speed.
After that incident, I always check for merging traffic and allow them a way to enter the road when it is safe to do so. That was the last time I ever sped on purpose or drove without my cell phone. 911 is a real life saver when dealing with that type of craziness.
